The season concludes with Edith Karlson’s solo show, curated by Eero Epner. This exhibition digs its claws into the deepest layers of humanity and the sediments of its history. Karlson’s works are inspired by archaeological finds and Medieval sculptures, nevertheless, her works do not pose as commentary but move in parallel to them – into the murky layers of the human psyche. Dinosaurs and motel rooms, the elite and illnesses, animal corpses and Christ of the cross, bone and flounce. The exhibition is a conceptual combination of Edith Karlson’s new works and archival material, offering new models of interpretation both in the context of a self-proclaimed museum, but also in a broader sense, in terms of what we understand as belonging to a museum.
