“Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia” is an exhibition on three stories of the building situated at Põhja pst. 35. It dwells on the museum’s operating methods and looks for potential approaches towards some possible future scenarios, and tactics of not reaching them.

Themes filling the stories are firstly, the power of naming, carrying/playing it out and submitting (to) it; secondly, the internationalisation and standardisation of contemporary art, and the choices coming from the changes in social values; and thirdly, the influence of gentrification along with the questions of sustainability and capability of self initiatives.

“Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia” favours a look on itself from the logic of a performative installation, also retrospectively, in order to recontextualise and comment on its decade-long activities.
